Dear Maple Lawn parents,
It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since COVID-19 first entered our community and closed Maple Lawn Preschool. We know this year has been extremely difficult and stressful. We have appreciated your patience as we have tried to navigate the ever-changing environment. With much left unknown, limited resources, and facility limitations, we have made the very difficult decision to remain closed through the rest of the school year and focus our energy on Fall 2021 reopening.
OHA guidelines and the Ready Schools, Safe Learners guidance has tied our hands in many ways. We have spent hours upon hours trying to figure out how to make the guidance work and keep with the integrity and structure of our program. As you know Maple Lawn is not just a preschool but a second home to your children, where they learn and grow in a safe and constructive environment. Our facility is small and cozy which is ideal in many respects but makes it extremely difficult for us to operate safely within the tight OHA guidelines. The reality of operating with reduced students, in modified formats, while dealing periodic closures due to quarantine is not realistic for our program.
We know this is a huge let down. We had hoped that things would be in a better place by this time. Unfortunately, guidelines have not changed for a facility and program our size.
We will also be updating this page as we solidify dates and information so please check back regularly.
The teachers miss your kid(s) terribly and can’t wait for Fall!
